The Celestial Apollo – Aphrodite Dance 2004 – 2012

By Stephen Poplin, August 2026

We all witnessed the international astrological and astronomical interest in the Venus transit to the Sun on June 5th – 6th, 2012, which was the second of two rare alignments between these two spheres and the Earth, the first one of which occurred on June 8th, 2004.

Astronomers were looking in one direction, and seers were perceiving other levels. As we know, Hollywood stepped in and offered a disaster film. Many eyes in 2012 were focused upon December of that year, perhaps pulled by the winter solstice. Many others knew of the Mayan interest in Venus, or Kukulkán, and thus were focused upon June 2012.

It is now 2026 and the children born during those “blessings” are between 13 and 23 years old (adding a conservative orb of time).

I noticed some young performers on several talent shows in the last few years and was impressed. There they are! The Sun – Venus children are here, and shining. I also refer to them as the Apollo – Aphrodite blessed, and they are and will be involved in music, the arts, acting, etc. A great example is The Graystones, a viral youth rock band from the San Francisco Bay Area, consisting of members aged 11 to 15 years old. Founded in 2023 by drummer Grayson and bassist Max, the group gained widespread attention for their sophisticated covers of classic rock, pop, and blues hits by artists such as Sade, Fleetwood Mac, Toto, and The Eagles. You can catch their performances on YouTube, etc.

The Web 2.0 Boom (2000s) Friendster (2002) pioneered mainstream social networking, leading to the launch of LinkedIn (2003) for professional use and MySpace (2003) for consumer profiles. Facebook launched in 2004 at Harvard before expanding globally, while YouTube (2005) revolutionized video sharing and Twitter (2006) introduced microblogging. The 2010s saw the rise of visual and ephemeral content with Instagram (2010), Pinterest (2010), and Snapchat (2011).

– The dark shadow of the Sun upon Venus: teen girls have been especially pressured by the ever-looking Venusian mirrors. Comparisons, competition, body shaming and impossible or unreasonable expectations have led to anxiety, depression, bulimia and even suicide. Hard to keep up with the social trenders, many who perform stunts to keep their audience levels high.

For those of us who see beyond the astronomical information, I will blend some historical events coincidental to past alignments, searching for patterns so as to find interpretive, or metaphysical views of this rare celestial event. It’s involved and fascinating.

So first an introduction to the two stars of the celestial drama – the Sun and Venus. The Sun is the generous light giver and the big pull on our solar system. The theatrical Apollo, the solar god, was a musician, lyricist, athlete and performer who oversaw the big view daily as his grand chariot flew across the skies. His steady progress brought warmth and atmospheric weather changes which nurtured the growing seasons, and the changing seasons. The Sun has a global perspective … with a light in the middle. Thus, major players, adventurers, leaders, creators and strong personalities are indicated by a prominent solar placement. One can look up a list of the big players, performers, dancers and actors who blossomed around 2003 thru 2013. (A conservative orb, yes). They had the cosmic spotlight upon them in those years, and the children born in those times are now coming to the stage.

Venus, also called Aphrodite and other adoring names, is the divine goddess of pleasure, beauty, relationship, song, aesthetics, and the feminine mystique. She rules Libra, the scales, and thus harmony, justice and fairness, or the urge to rise above selfish motives and to connect with others, striving for win-win resolutions. Diplomats, linguists, writers, musicians, models, dancers, and legal professionals all may have prominent Venus. The Mayans viewed this light in the sky as the Sovereign and Quetzal Serpent, also called Kukulkán. They evidently planned wars on the rising of Venus after her disappearance behind the Sun, perhaps to use the “lucky” planet to their advantage.

Quetzalcoatl translates to plumed serpent. The word quetzalli eventually came to mean “treasure, or precious”. The word coatl came to mean “snake” and occasionally “twin”, hence it could mean “Precious Twin”. Like the ancient Greeks, the Mesoamericans also identified two Venuses, one as the morning light, a positive force heralding the coming of the Sun, and then the evening light, which could be negative, as the Sun was gone.

As Venus is involved, be on the lookout for binding pairs, relationships, and feminine or yin dynamics, and even females! Both today and historically, I will be searching for these tell-tale indicators of these lights.

My image of this event is this: the megaphone of the Sun is broadcasting the message of Venus. Contemplate that like a Sabian symbol or a Tarot card. Together, these out-going, social lights coincide with pleasurable activities, including games and sports, cafes and clubs, galleries and performances; plus groups, societies and organizations that promote social improvements. There’s more, much more.

Adding to this drama are the two zodiac signs in which these Venus-Sun alignments are found, namely Gemini and Sagittarius, which alternate in focus throughout the centuries (the 1761/1769 and 2004/2012 pairs are in Gemini, the 1631/1639 – 1874/1882 pairs are in Sagittarius, etc.). Gemini brings breakthroughs in communication, technologies aiding the sharing of ideas, and things happening in twos! We need to overcome duality with this polarity, such as good-evil, interrelated-isolated, unifying-separating, selfless-selfish. With Sagittarius, expand your perceptions to view things internationally, and follow the desire to take voyages to exotic places and to intriguing cultures. As we take a stroll into the past to see what occurred with these alignments, watch for all of these themes. Let us hope we are growing in wisdom and learn to heed the signs for a better future.

This is a relatively rare event, similar in rarity to the Uranus – Pluto conjunctions (which matched the explosive, dynamic periods of the late 1840s – 1850s, and again in the 1960s).

Every 113 or 130 years, alternating in length,* Venus aligns exactly in front of the face of the Sun… a Sun-Venus eclipse, as it were. Then, eight years minus 2 days later, the second pairing or alignment occurs. (Venus loves those pairs!) It is quite likely that no one alive has witnessed this event (the last time was in 1882). Astronomically, this alignment happens when the Sun comes close to the nodes of Venus, at that time in the tropical signs of Gemini and Sagittarius, at the same time that Venus conjoins the Sun, or, more precisely, when Venus makes an inferior (between Sun & Earth) conjunction. The June 8th, 2004, transit of Venus across the disk of the Sun lasted a bit more than six hours. Many observed this event – with safety glasses! – at sunrise on the east coast of the US, and across Europe, with the mid-point over the Middle East, and also viewed from areas in Africa and Asia. Then, in the interesting year of 2012 – a significant year according to the Mayan calendar. Venus, sometimes disguised as the mythical plumed serpent, Quetzalcoatl, had many things to share with us at that time!

* More precisely, the pattern of recurrence for these Venus transits are 8 years, then 121.5 years, 8, and 105.5 years.

Historically we could calculate the times of alignment off into the distant past, but the celestial observations, and even the conscious knowledge that such events were even happening, came after the astronomical revelations of Johannes Kepler (1571-1630), who published some tables in 1627. In it, Kepler predicted the Mercury – Sun transit on 7 Nov 1631 and the Venus-Sun transit on 7 Dec 1631, neither which he lived to see. Had he lived, he would no doubt have recalculated those tables, which had some inaccuracies.

OK, we could go back one cycle earlier, to 1518-1526, just to take a peek. My research has indicated that affected events are triggered around two years before and after the exact alignment. Below are a few of the people, contributions, and events connected to the 1518 Gemini transit; but here’s the major news: the Christian religion splits into two – the Protestants and the Catholics. Many wars will be fought over this battle for power over the lives, and souls, of men.

1516 – Thomas More published “Utopia,” a mythical land of harmony and justice.

1518 – Martin Luther refused to recant; Swiss Reformation; Peace of London between England, France, Spain, Maximilian I and the Pope! Mexico discovered. Licensing of the slave trade – a legal shadow, obviously. Albrecht Dürer and Raphael were painting their masterpieces.

1519 – Magellan/del Cano voyage to circumnavigate the globe. Magellan did not complete the journey himself. He died halfway through his journey, on the other side of the world. – Note the message to the European world with this voyage: One round sphere. The first “around the world” journey. All of this was during, and a part of, the Renaissance. I’m sure these naval discoveries fired the imagination of the people, just awakening from the Dark Ages. Eight years later, the second transit ushered in more possibilities.

1525 – Luther marries a former nun. Venus making a major statement here to clergy! The Catholics are gnashing their teeth.

1526 – Anglo-Scottish Peace signed; Hungary defeated by Turks – 2 kings were crowned in a divided Hungary (a Gemini dynamic); Italian school of literature founded in Portugal; Reformation in Sweden

1527 – “The Courtier” by Castiglione, on courtly manners (Venus); Sack of Rome… art treasures stolen; first Protestant university (education, a gathering of young people – Gemini)

We are starting to see some patterns. The whole globe or large portions of the earth are perceived, understood and appreciated by an enterprising and observant group, who share this larger perspective with the populace. A dualistic world (old & new, Catholics & Protestants, yin-yang,

European & “savages”) is contrasted with a unifying Big picture, but there are casualties from nature and culture.

By the way, there are 13 to 14 transits of Mercury each century. All Mercury transits occur within several days of May 8 and Nov 10, corresponding to 18 – 19 degrees Taurus /Scorpio. There are more November alignments than May, for astronomical reasons I won’t get into here. As there are so many alignments, one can make an educated guess that people born around those dates, and people who have sensitive points or planets around those degrees, will experience this Sun-Mercury influence to a greater degree than others. Could we be describing flashes of brilliance? Understandings of the marketplace, architecture and design, or the physical sciences? Legal nuances, loopholes? Healing, herbs, remedies, surgery? Metaphysical or paranormal insights, hidden discoveries coming to light? We are talking about Taurus and Scorpio proclivities, of course.

The 1631 transit of Mercury was observed, interestingly enough, by four people – 2 French speaking (Paris – Alsace) and 2 German (Tyrol – Bavaria). Mercury/Gemini! Ya gotta love those linguistic duets!

The 1631 transit of Venus was not observed due to inaccuracies in Kepler’s tables. A refinement was needed, and calculated, by a boy genius from England named Jeremiah Horrocks. He only lived 22 years, but long enough to observe his accurate prediction of the Venus transit on 4 Dec 1639 – Sagittarius. His friend, William Crabtree, observed it in another city and was so amazed by it that he failed to take any measurements. How bonding: two British friends observing an event with Venus! Let’s look at the big picture:

1630 – Treaty of Madrid ends Anglo-French war; Boston founded in new Massachusetts colony; first coffee shop opens in London (Stimulating, and life will never be the same!)

1631 – Beginning of High Baroque period in Italy; Galileo writing and researching; various plays produced about women; as a contrast, Don Juan plays; Rubens, Frans Hals, Rembrandt, Velazquez painting; Maria de Medici involved with French conspiracies, is exiled; John Dryden, English dramatist, born

1632 – Queen Christina ascends throne of Sweden as child; a list of impressive people born this year: John Locke, liberal philosopher; Spinoza, Dutch philosopher; Jan Vermeer, Dutch painter; and Christopher Wren, English architect – Venus was their Muse

Eight years later, we have:

1638 – Louis XIV born – the Sun King! New Haven, CT, founded – a city which will shine with learning in the future; torture abolished in England

1639 – Rubens “The Three Graces” and “Judgment of Paris”, Rembrandt – a portrait of his mother; theater is lively; first comic opera; Galileo continuing his work, as is John Milton; work began compiling a dictionary of the French language (it took 55 years to complete); Anne Hutchinson sets up a religious community in Rhode Island; first printing press in North America in Cambridge, MA (100 years behind Mexico!); Racine, French dramatist, born

1640 – “Inspiration of the Poet” published; first café opens in Venice; postal services operating in England

On the island of St Helena, Edmond Halley (1656 – 1742) observed a transit of Mercury on 7 Nov 1677. He suggested that the astronomical community gather to observe these inner planet transits so as to study solar and planetary distance and parallax (shift in position of the planet’s disk caused by the different locations of the observers on the Earth).

Scientific observers had 84 years to carry out Halley’s requests – a Uranus return! And they did come together – despite the Seven Years’ War – in 1761. There were 120 observers in 62 sites. This was arguably the first global collaboration by an international group in the world. This was truly a classic astronomical-astrological event: despite a major international war, Venus indicated a harmonious coalition for a higher cause, and the global sense of oneness shone brightly by the rays of the Sun in Gemini.

1760 – George III becomes king … who will lose the US colonies in war; “Tristram Shandy” published; first British school for deaf & dumb opened; Saint-Simon, social theorist, born

1761 – JJ Rousseau wrote “Julie, or La Nouvelle Heloise”; Voltaire translated into English; and Shakespeare translated into German; “History of Theaters in London and Dublin” (note the Gemini influences)

1762 – Rousseau wrote the “Social Contract,” which inspired some up-coming revolutions; Catherine II of Russia becomes Czarina; many treaties, truces and alliances worldwide; Mozart recognized as child prodigy; Benjamin Franklin develops the glass harmonica; Russian scientist and poet Mikhail Lomonosov discovers the atmosphere of Venus!

Eight years later, in 1769, the second Venus alignment brought even more observers together. There were 151 observing teams in over 77 sites united to study and share their findings. An interesting tale of exploration was had by Captain James Cook, who traveled to Tahiti and Hawaii – both very Venusian cultures at that time. Europeans were fascinated with these “pure and innocent” cultures. Jean Jacques Rousseau extolled the virtues of the “noble savage,” and many world-weary Europeans were inspired by the idea of peaceful and harmonious societies. Things didn’t always go well when these different societies mixed, however. On Cook’s second visit to Hawaii, a dispute erupted, a breakdown in cultural understanding, and he was killed. Besides his death, a typhus epidemic in Mexico claimed many observers of this 1769 alignment. Note the glory, and the tragedy, of this alignment in the dual sign of Gemini.

1768 – Capt. Cook’s voyage; founding of Royal Academy, London, “for the annual exhibition of works of contemporary artists and for the establishment of a school of art.”; Encyclopedia Britannica serialized

1769 – civil disobedience by American colonists; Mozart composing operas; Swedenborg, a mystic, is writing; Joseph Priestly wrote “Just Government”; exposés of corruption published anonymously – great scandal in England; Marie Antoinette marries; Napoleon born

1770 – Boston Massacre; 3000 carat opal found in Hungary; first public restaurant opens in Paris; Beethoven, William Wordsworth born

* Please note that his pair of Venus transits are going to be more similar to the 2004/2012 alignments, for every 243 years these transits are found in Gemini. Thus, note the writings on both sides of political issues (left – right), seminal and even revolutionary books published – some anonymously, comparisons between different cultures and societies, archeological discoveries, translations of important books and theories, and civil disobedience will be in the news. What we will not know for decades is that musical and literary prodigies will come into the world.

Back to history however! 105 years later, the next opportunity to study this phenomena (in Sagittarius) presented itself. The scientific community, and the world, made many advancements in technology and the physical sciences synchronistically after Uranus was discovered (in 1781). Then Neptune (discovered 1846) added its visual gifts of photography for the next transits. Therefore, in 1874, precision clocks, better knowledge of longitudes, and photographic recording added greatly to astronomical understanding. This Venus transit was seen mainly over Asia.

1873 – Vienna World Exhibition; Herbert Spencer – “The Study of Sociology”; tennis, cricket, football, roller skating all introduced, developed or becoming popular; Manet, Cezanne, Monet, Renoir all painting; Enrico Caruso, Sergei Rachmaninoff born; the cities of Buda and Pest are united to form the capital of Hungary; color photographs first developed; gunsmith firm of E. Remington and Sons begin to produce typewriters!

1874 – Paris Opera completed; world postal union established – Switzerland; Britain annexes Fiji Islands; first Impressionist exhibition in Paris; excavation of Olympia, Greece; Troy discovered (note 2 digs); Tolstoy, Rimbaud, J.S. Mill, Flaubert, Mark Twain, Thomas Hardy, Victor Hugo all writing; Henry Sidgwick – “Methods of Ethics”; Tchaikovsky, Bruckner, Rimsky-Korsakov, Brahms, Moussorgsky, Bizet, Gilbert & Sullivan, J. Strauss II, Verdi all composing!; Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children founded in New York; Civil marriage compulsory in Germany; first American zoo – Philadelphia; Winston Churchill, Robert Frost, Herbert Hoover, Chaim Weizmann (1st Israeli president), Gustav Holst, Arnold Schönberg born

1875 – “Hermes” found in Olympia dig; London School of Medicine for Women founded; Public Health Act passed in Britain; Theosophical Society founded by Madame Blavatsky; Mary Baker Eddy, founder of Christian Science, publishes“Science and Health”; Carl Gustav Jung, Albert Schweitzer, Aleister Crowley, Thomas Mann, Rainer Maria Rilke born

1876 – Alexander Graham Bell invents the telephone; Wagner composing; Heinrich Schliemann excavates Mycenae; Pablo Casals, Mata Hari born

1877 – Edgar Cayce born

Eight years later, in 1882, with observation points based centrally in South America, many voyages of discovery were initiated to study the event. At least two permanent scientific stations were established during this phase. A German station settled in the Sandwich Islands in 1882, and the French set up a station at Orange Bay, close to Cape Horn. On the same day, both stations recorded a strange tidal oscillation. They found out later it was the shock waves by the volcano exploding on Krakatoa in Indonesia!

* I must note that there was also a Saturn – Neptune conjunction at this time.

1881 – Natural History Museum, London, opened; University College, Liverpool, founded; Tuskegee Institute founded by Booker T. Washington; Edward Tylor publishes “Anthropology”; President James Garfield becomes US President and is soon assassinated; Edward Taylor – “Anthropology”; Vatican archives opened to scholars; 1st French cabaret; Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Wagner, Gilbert and Sullivan, Debussy, Chabrier, Offenbach composing; Freedom of press established in France; Federation of Organized Trades and Labor Unions of the U.S. and Canada formed; Pablo Picasso, Béla Bartók, Alexander Fleming born

1882 – World Exhibition in Moscow; Triple Alliance – Italy, Austria, Germany; Leslie Stephen’s “Science of Ethics” published; Edison designs first hydroelectric plant; Henry James, Flaubert, Ibsen, George Bernard Shaw, Nietsche, Maupassant, Zola all writing; Robert L. Stevenson – “Treasure Island”– a very Sagittarian theme!; US bans Chinese immigrants for 10 years — intercultural disharmony; Society for Psychical Research formed in London to objectively study the spirit world; Franklin D. Roosevelt, James Joyce, Samuel Goldwyn, Igor Stravinsky, Leopold Stokowski born

1883 – Fabian Society founded in London (Fabian socialism is still worth trying); Strauss composes the “Transit of Venus”; World Exhibition in Amsterdam;1st skyscraper (10 stories) in Chicago; Buffalo Bill presents his Wild West Show; Metropolitan Opera House, NY; John Maynard Keynes, Mussolini, Coco Chanel, Franz Kafka born

Various parallax observations were precisely made with these last pairs of Venus transits. The modern scientific community was poised to use more sophisticated measuring devices for the recent pair of transits 2004 – 2012. Equipment that records things beyond the telescope and timepiece, namely, wavelengths past the visual spectrum such as radar and radiation were additions from the probing, atomic age innovations since Pluto’s discovery in 1930.

The June 8, 2004, transit of Venus (at 17 Gemini 53) highlighted the Middle East, which certainly is an area that needed some Solar-Venusian blessings but since this time has been the focus of 2 (yes two) wars and two sibling religions at loggerheads. Some major peace initiatives took place there – and about this volatile area, as well as some art discoveries as contrast. In fact, the Library of Alexandria was discovered in the spring of 2004; as this may be the oldest university library in the world, this was a great discovery and symbolically can be interpreted as a modern sign of re-discovered wisdom. But before we brew up that mint tea in celebration, we must remember that a shadow dualism was very evident in this troubled area of the world. As in 1527, another great and old city was sacked and art treasures were stolen … and so in Baghdad in 2003. Coincidentally, June 2004 was the month of Iraqi local control, and the return of national oversight to the people there. Politics being what it is, strong personalities and personal motives and self-gain were in the limelight there. Even though George W. Bush lived far away from the region, he was very involved in the various scandals: the Abu Ghraib prison torture, Joseph Wilson and his CIA wife who was betrayed, and even the legitimacy of the Iraqi invasion and occupation. Other personalities in the region were Yasser Arafat, Ariel Sharon, the Saudi princes, religious leaders, and other royalty and movers/ shakers. A lot of attention was directed towards Muslim women, their rights, and their clothing. Surprises and upsets were indicated with Uranus retrograding just two days later, on June 10th. There were falls from power (Richard Tenet was the fall guy in the CIA). Someone prominent was sure to have a premature death that summer 2004. Arafat died.

On the other end of that continuum, babies born in 2003, 04, & 05 and 2011, 2012, & 2013 will have this rare alignment to invigorate and inspire them – especially if this Gemini degree is strongly aspected in the carts of those children. Although great works of art are constantly created, sculpted, published and recorded, do pay attention to especially original works at this time–and gifted children. In the news that spring 2004 were two exciting excavations, Egyptian and Mayan, both promising unique works of art brought to light.

In March 2004, as we approached the power of these lights, seven eastern European nations joined NATO, bringing the idea of united strength to bear in an uncertain world. The European Union expanded with 15 new members. Awesome. Various alliances, exhibitions, concerts, and global awareness gatherings were in the news. For instance, there was a fascinating exposition, for lack of a better word, unfolding in Barcelona that spring, 2004, that was celebrating, educating, and formulating innovative solutions for a more equitable world. This five month event included concerts by major international stars, all sorts of performances, interactive multi-media presentations and much more, set in a multi-million dollar center built for this unique experiment in global consciousness. Exciting? Indeed. Plus, there was an eight year initiative called the Global Oneness Commitment, a European/ Indian venture honoring and exploring the many levels and meanings of the Venus transits of 2004 and 2012.

Back in the USA, a prominent female, Martha Stewart, was sentenced in June 2004 (she got six months). The Scott Peterson case was in the news that same year (He was found guilty of killing his wife and unborn child). Same sex marriages were facing legal issues, even constitutionality, at this time. Canada recognized their legitimacy. The Gemini polarity was heating up both sides of the pro/anti-Bush regime; the Iraqi War and other Bush policies were dividing the country. It is very interesting to note that “The Lord of the Rings” won all the Oscars that year, 2004. Here is a fantasy story about good versus evil, with strong and powerful characters with superhuman powers saving the world. In the US Scorpio Rising chart, progressed MC was exactly squaring Venus in June (The effect lasted more than a year ). Overall, it boded well for the economy, but especially gains for women, musicians, artists and actors. This author predicted that there would be a female running mate stepping forward; he thought it would be for the Democrats and hoped for Oprah, but it turned out to be the Mayan war goddess, Sarah Palin. Watch for other female oriented issues, such as abortion, hormone treatments, and equal pay for equal work come to national attention. The Supreme Court was deciding various cases connected with civil rights, especially for women. The easily amused American consumer was distracted with Jennifer Lopez and Ben Afflect’s love lives in 2004, and then moved to Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt a short time later … while gaining weight at convenient fast food chains, then opting for plastic surgery such as liposuction to take it off again. Thank goodness organizations such as MoveOn.org and TruthOut.org were utilizing the internet to unite visionaries and encourage activism. Michael More and his films focusing upon justice and uncovering the lies has been a phenomenon during this Sun-Venus phase. This is the other side of the American Dream.

The archeological equivalent to muck-raking has steadily been in the news in those years: treasures, finds, excavations, discoveries and artistic surprises were discovered and publicized. In literature, the phenomena of Dan Brown’s “The DaVinci Code” centered around unearthed discoveries and pointed towards the divine bloodline of Christ in a female. If that isn’t Sun-Venus I don’t know what is. This was followed by two (2) hit films dealing with deciphering and uncovering works of art – and crime of course. Meanwhile, later in the year 2004 a hidden study of Leonardo DaVinci was discovered with his original works intact. What a coincidence. The rays of opportunities and discoveries continued through these eight years.

The 2012 transit was centrally located over the north Pacific. This rim of fire, so named because of all of the volcanic activity surrounding the Pacific, had several eruptions. Also in the area, the Asian markets came into prominence. Korea and China were periodically in this spot light. As the ancient Mayan lands of Central America will be able to view this Quetzalcoatl-Venus transit to the Solar God, it will be mighty intriguing, to say the least. Evidently the ancient Mayans were excellent observers. Meanwhile, in the popular press, the big question … Will the clock stop and a new calendar begin? Will there be a calamity at this end of the Mayan 5th Great Cycle? (Much attention was set for the winter solstice – December 21, 2012, but this author remained focused on the June 2012 date.) It would have been great to have justice and fairness blessing Central America, and indeed the Arab Spring exploded the year before.

What better symbol of Venus – Sun than music?

The International Music Score Library Project (IMSLP), also known as the Petrucci Music Library after publisher Ottaviano Petrucci, was a project for the creation of a virtual library of public domain music scores, based on the wiki principle. Since its launch on February 16, 2006, over 143,000 scores and 5,600 recordings for over 46,000 works by over 6,700 composers had been uploaded by 2012. The project uses MediaWiki software to provide contributors with a familiar interface. Since 6 June 2010, IMSLP also included public domain and licensed recordings in its scope, to allow for study by ear.

More finds during the Venus – Sun “occultation” 2012

A Korean Bodhisattva statue was x-rayed starting in 2008 and published in 2012 – ancient sacred scripts were found inside the head and belly.

Women in the news, 2012:

Dilma Rousseff was the President of Brazil, one of the largest countries in the world. Hillary Clinton was Secretary of State. Angela Merkel had been leading the German Republic all during this time, and so she was one of the most powerful women and quite influential. Christine Lagarde headed the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Aung San Suu Kyi of Burma/ Myanmar was finally able to have more say in her country, as she was elected to do so many years before. The human rights situation in Ukraine was again in the news, particularly about the treatment of jailed opposition figure Yulia Tymoshenko, who through her hunger strike focused world attention on the difficulties there. Good for them.

What are we to learn from these alignments? My idealistic side is very open to a major paradigm shift in global consciousness. These two transits bode well if the light-bearers, or older souls, take more of an initiative in world affairs. As noted, these Apollo – Aphrodite children are young, but coming of age.

Here are some insights from the Sun: We are One. We are aligned with the Higher Good. We are urged to marshal our creative energies towards stories, plays, theater, recreation, and great performances. Choice! Choose to follow the light, and shine our lights upon the world, for the good of all.

Venus would have conscious participation and interrelatedness in the dance of life. Justice and fair play for individuals, and for groups and peoples and even for animals. Let there be music and play and romance! Let there be peace on Earth. We might as well do it now than later, for the next Venus-Sun occultation won’t unfold until December 11, 2117!

Gemini reminds us that communication is the key. Debate, argue, mediate, negotiate or consolidate? Will we unite into the whole or separate into duality? Let us understand each other. Let us have a meeting of the minds, of the sexes, of religions and political perspectives. Watch for translations of foreign authors, for there will be some vibrant cross-pollination going on. Vive la difference!

Sagittarius (which represents the opposite Venus node) would have us stretch beyond our parochial, small town viewpoints and see the bigger picture. Compare cultures and religions. Judge not, but take the best from many beliefs. Give the microphone to the old souls.

Let’s get on with it!

Wait! This just in – just weeks before the exact 2012 alignment! It was in the news:

“Nevermind the Apocalypse: Earliest Mayan Calendar Found”

Deep in the Guatemalan rainforest, the oldest known version of the Mayan calendar has been found painted on ancient ruins’ walls.

Fri May 11, 2012 01:44 AM ET

Content provided by Stephanie Pappas, LiveScience Senior Writer

… from the article:

“William Saturno, an archaeologist from Boston University, was mapping the ancient Maya city of Xultun in northeast Guatemala in 2010 when one of his undergraduate students peered into an old trench dug by looters and reported seeing traces of ancient paint.”

From Discovery.com (and this link no longer works)

http://news.discovery.com/history/mayan-calendar-discovery-doomsday-120511.html

(I will have to add this, Nomen est omen – cognitive determinism in the form of Mr Saturno, revealing something Father Time would appreciate.)

Thus, the ancient Mayan year of prophecy brought forth an article, brought to light, on the very year prophesied, 2012, and one month before the Sun-Venus alignment. This prediction came roughly 800 years before! It is my conclusion that 2012 was indeed an important date for the Mayans, and the earliest Mayan calendar was found (two years before) and published in 2012, right on time.

While most of the esoteric community was focused upon the December 2012 alignment, I believe the mistake or miscalculation was the expected Sun-Venus alignment in Sagittarius, which happens every other Sun-Venus alignment. The June 2012 alignment was the main event, and as I have described in the context of this cycle over hundreds of years, it is indeed a grand alignment. We will be blessed by those born during this phase for many decades to come.
